I have finished my study of 1 Timothy for now and am moving on to 2 Timothy. A quick first reading of this chapter indicates that 2 Timothy continues with the same general themes taught in 1 Timothy.

2 Timothy 1 – The main theme here is for Timothy to continue in the faith, in what he has learned and to guard it.

2 Timothy 2 – Again, Timothy is reminded to remain faithful and also to watch his words and actions

2 Timothy 3 – Reminds us and Timothy of actions to avoid and what to strive for as we walk with Christ

2 Timothy 4 – Is a final reminder to preach and teach the Word and continue on the right path

I gather from Paul’s words that we are to continue in the faith by carefully studying the word and by encouraging (over and over and over again) our brothers and sisters in the faith.
